Dealing with comprehension questions.教学内容与过程Step1 Pre-reading(1)学生完成活动1。教师询问学生开学第一天的感受,可以板书学生回答的表示感受的形容词,同时补充更多表示感受的生词:anxious、annoyed、frightened、awkward。根据学生的回答教师可进一步询问学生产生此种感受的原因。以下提问和提示供参考。 How did you feel on your first day of senior high school? Did you feel an
3、xious? “Anxious” means “worried”. Did you feel annoyed? I mean if there was anything that made you angry. Did you feel frightened? I mean if there was anything you were afraid of? Was there anything that made you feel awkward? “Awkward” means “not relaxed or comfortable”. What made you feel happy/ex
4、cited/anxious/annoyed/frightened/awkward? (2)学生大声朗读这些表示感受的形容词。学生也可以通过猜词游戏,用面部表情或肢体语言表现这些形容词,来熟悉话题并巩固生词。 教学提示:教师要在词汇教学过程中培养学生分类学习的能力,引导学生根据主题、词性、构词法等,利用思维导图或表格将不同的词汇分类总结、积累,形成自己的“词汇库”(Word bank),从而避免孤立地死记硬背。Step2 While-listening(1)学生看标题和图片,预测文本的内容,然后根据文本体裁,猜测文本来源。教师提问:Look at the title and the pictur
5、es. What do you think Han Jing talks about in the text? Can you guess where the text is taken from? (The text is taken from a social networking website.) Would you like to post any entries on a similar website? 教学提示:文本的标题、格式、来源是构成文本特点的重要因素,教师要引导学生有意识地关注。本文标题中的impression是生词,学生可以根据上下文进行猜测。(2)学生快速阅读文本,
6、找出作者主要谈论的四件事情,核对预测。(3)学生阅读活动3中的问题,然后再次阅读文本,寻找问题答案。学生可以先在小组内核对答案,然后师生核对。教师在核对答案的过程中追问文中生词的意思,并引导学生关注上下文中能帮助推测词义的线索。教师提问:What does outgoing mean? Why do you think so? What about impression in Part One? Its also used in the title of the passage. What do you think it means? Why? What does guy mean? Why

How do you infer their meanings?(4) 学生提取文中关键信息,完成活动4中的表格。学生试着用完整的句子复述Han Jing开学第一天的经历和心情的变化过程,以内化语言。Step3 Post-reading(1)学生向同伴描述开学第一天发生的主要事情和自己的感受。教学提示:如果学生基础相对薄弱,教师可以先以提问的方式引导学生从说句子入手,最终做到能用完整的
8、段落进行口头表达。例如: How did you feel before school? What class impressed you most on the first day of school? Why? Did you experience anything special on your first day of school? What happened? What did you learn from your first day at senior high school? (2)学生完成Word Study中的练习,并核对答案。然后教师提出以下问题,帮助学生将语言学习与文本内容相结合,以巩固所学内容。How did Tian Hua feel at first as a new student in America? Why did she feel so?How did she adjust herself?What is her favourite class? Why does she like it?How does she feel now?Step4 Homework参考Word Study中的语篇,学生在课后以“My First Day of School”为题写一篇短文,通过一个“小事件”重点讲述自己的感受。备注
