be famous for 因而出名;be famous as 作为而出名;be famous to 为所知。6D考查It be名词词组that从句,it是形式主语。7B本题主要考查regret to do的用法。 The same is true of/for“适用于”。

anxious和eager后常跟about或for,都不跟of,故答案为B。 make contact with与联系,in trouble处于危难之中。

3B由下文的“going to be late”以及“pronounce me late”可知,出乎意料的事情的发生使下班时间比平时晚。

、中的“explaining how to get there”可知,这对老夫妇是在询问如何到达当地医院,此处direction表示“方向”。

die down“逐渐停止,变弱”。

Many of Gershwins songs were first written for musical plays performed in theatres in New York City. Over the years they have been sung and played in every possible wayfrom jazz to count

、ry. In the 1920s there was a debate in the United States about jazz music.可知这是惠特曼举办音乐会的原因,不是举办音乐会的结果,因此排除选项D;根据第三段中的最后一句.showed that jazz music could be both serious and popular. Gershwin himself played the piano at the concer

、t. While there,Gershwin wrote An American in Paris. It still remains one of his most famous works.

Newspapers all over the world reported his death on their front pages. He published his first song when he was eighteen years old.

During the next twenty years he wrote more than five hundred songs. A。.1.The same is true of foreign language learning.2.It is clear that not all boys like football.3.Ive earned my own living since I was seven, doing all kinds of jobs.4.I wrote a letter regarding my daughters school examinations.5.They made contact with headquarters by radio.
