Ability aims:(1) Get Students to learn to know facts about Qomolangma.(2) Get Students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and ad

3、verbs.(3) Get students to learn how to scan the main idea.(4) Get Students to know the spirits of the climbers and use them in their lives.3. Moral Objectives: Never give up and humans can challenge themselves. 2学情分析 学生已在八年级上册接触过形容词和副词的比较级和最高级形式,所以已有一定的基础。本单元在八年级上的语言基础上加以拓展,进一步学习和使用形容词的最高级。 3重点难点 Im

4、portances:(1) Get Students to learn to know facts about Qomolangma.(2) Get Students to learn to use the comparisons with adjectives and adverbs.(3) Get Students to learn how to scam the main idea.Difficulties:1. Its a bit difficult for Students to pronounce some names and words in the passage.Its a

5、bit difficult for Students to use reading skills while reading.4教学过程 教学活动 活动1【导入】Warmup Freetalks:1.Whatwouldyouliketododuringthecomingholiday?2.Whatisyourhobby?设计意图:一进入课堂利用跟学生的互动预热课堂,并且把话题引到接下去要讨论的favoritegift上。Leadin1.Showstudentstheteachersfavoritegift,meanwhileteachsomenewwords.2Studentsareablet

6、osharetheirfavoritegifts.3.Studentsareabletodiscusswhatarethegiftsfromthenature.设计意图:利用favoritegift这个话题引出thegiftsfromthenature。通过大自然的馈赠这样一个切入点引出下面的喜马拉雅山脉和珠穆朗玛峰,从而对文本的中心提升埋下一个伏笔。 活动2【讲授】Prereading 1.Show the title and the picture to the students and ask them tell what they can get from the title and

Students are asked to predict the main idea of the article according to the title and the picture.After talking, provide students with three choices and let them choose the right main idea for the article.设计意图:让学生利用文章的标题和图片来预测文章的主要内容,这也是一个阅读策略的渗透,长期坚持能够极大提高学生的阅读能力活动3【讲授】While

8、reading 1.Fast reading: Read and match each paragraph with the main ideas.2. Careful reading: Read each paragraph and finish some tasks.3. Fill in the blanks according to the article.设计意图:利用找段落大意进行快速阅读,基本了解本篇阅读的内容。精读课文,完成相关任务。利用填空巩固所学。活动4【活动】Posttask Discussion1: Students are asked to share the opin

9、ions in groups of four and discuss in groups.“Does the writer question or support the opinion that Qomolangma is the most dangerous mountain in the world?”Discussion 2: Qomolangma is like the difficulty in studentslife. Students are asked to discuss in groups and choose a common “Qomolangma” and tel

10、l how they will face it.设计意图:通过对作者立场的讨论一方面能够促使学生利用当堂学习的内容来解决问题另一方面能够让学生对这篇文章有更深的理解。让学生讨论生活中遇到的珠穆朗玛,其实是对文本进行了更深的处理,把珠穆朗玛这个话题放得更深更广,很好得帮助学生能够挖掘到文本的内涵。 活动5【活动】Sumup Guide students to sum up what they can get from the article.设计意图:通过总结,学生能够感悟到文本的深层次的涵义:珠穆朗玛是大自然的馈赠,正是由于它的存在,人们才有可能去挑战自我,永不放弃。同时也是由于人们的挑战,当站在珠穆朗玛峰的顶端,世界最高峰会变得很渺小,而原本渺小的人类会变得很高大。活动6【作业】Homework Level A: Review the new words and expressions, then finish the exercise.Level B: Finish a passage about your “Qomolangma” in your life and how you will face it.
