2、frica over the previous 3-years.China will provide 20 billion USD in credit to African countries, mainly to support the infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing and the development of medium-small-sized enterprises of African countries.China has become Africas largest trading partner and a major s
3、ource of investment for infrastructure.Bilateral trade hit a record 160 billion US dollars last year, a three-fold increase from 2006.From the political perspective, Hu Jintao says he wants to see closer Chinese ties with Africa on a strategic level.China and Africa should increase coordination and
4、cooperation in international affairs. We should jointly maintain the aims and principles of the UN Charters, advocate democratization in international relations and push forward the harmonious and balanced development of the world. We should oppose the practices of the big bullying the small, the st
5、rong dominating the weak and the rich oppressing the poor.The Chinese government is also promising to provide financial support for the African Union peace-keeping missions, on top of helping training more peacekeepers for the AU.South African President Jacob Zuma says Africa wants to see more Chine
6、se involvement in infrastructure, telecommunications and energy on the continent.Despite of the major progress, the African continent has registered, in the past few years, there are still major challenges that need urgent attention. In particular are infrastructure development, information and communication technologies and energy among others.
