Whats your name, can you tell us? 必要时帮助学生回答： My name is.Step 2 Compete to say the words (1a)目的：本活动是为了让学生培养图片联想单词
3、的能力，并通过竞赛形式激发学习兴趣。操作：教师拿起一个钟，问道：Whats this？在学生回答正确后，把clock这个单词写在黑板上。用图片或实物，请学生们认读单词book, door, fish, ball, window, ruler, etc.让学生看课本图片写下尽可能多的英语单词。检查结果，看哪个学生写下最多的正确单词。请一个学生在黑板上写下他的单词，让其他的同学进行补充。Step3 Listen and number the conversations (1b)目的：训练学生从听力材料中获取有关人物介绍的信息操作： 让学生们诵读课文图片中的对话，请两个学生在班上诵读。播放录音，让学
4、生们给对话标上序号。再次播放听力，学生们跟读。教师通过设问Whats your name?和Is your name Mary？来呈现两种疑问句的升降调。教师可以设置下面的对话，练习升降调。如：A：Is your name Jim?B：No.A：Is your name Tom?B：No.A：Whats your name，then？B：My names Alan.Step 4 Practice (1c)目的：让学生模仿真实情景进行交际，即打招呼和询问他人名字。操作：学生两人一组，操练1b中的对话。教师与一个基础较好的学生进行对话，呈现下面的内容：T：Hello, Im Tom, whats your name?S：Hi, Tom! Im Mary. Nice to meet you!T：Nice to meet you!学生进行二人小组操作，然后请几对学生到前面展示。
