83、ct that would connect old people with those students. W: Yes. I knew there was a need for such a project. What I didnt know, however, was that the project would be so successful. M: Can you share with me more details?W: (16)Last year, we had two hundred senior volunteers. Together, they did more tha

84、n twelve thousand hours of teaching and helped about five hundred students. M: Thats a great job!Text 10 This is my hometown. (17)Only a few hundred people live here, but when I was a kid, it seemed like the whole world lived here. I know it doesnt look like much at first, but once you spend some ti

85、me here, youll see that there is a lot to do. One thing you wont find is tall buildings. (18)In fact, I think there are only about a dozen buildings on Main Street in the center of town. Theres a market and a couple of restaurants and bars. There is also a place to get your haircut, a place to wash

86、your clothes, and a school. (19)But if you want to mail a letter or buy a TV, you have to go to the next little town over, which is five miles away. Its pretty quiet around here, and thats what folks like most about this place. Theres a river where you can go fishing and a great mountain for climbing. (20)But running around in the fields next to the forest is the most fun of all.
