1、Period five Reading practice, cultural cornerStep 1.Ask every student to finish Activity1 in Reading Practice and discuss the questions in Activity 2.Now ask the Ss to extend their imagination about the four sentences in Activity 2.For example:at eighteen, I felt was a sense of liberation. 2、the Ss can have all kinds of imaginations.For example:1. All my school life was just a nightmare, so when I left at eighteen, I felt as if I were liberated.2. I had never been used to school life of that kind, so at eighteen I felt I was finally free.3. I thought I would be much happier from then on

I didnt like the school regulations, at eighteen when I left school , I thought I didnt have to think about the strictness of those regulations any more. I was v

4、ery happy.Now ask the Ss to read the text carefully and finish Activities3and 4.Finally ask the Ss to make a blackboard passage and the topic is : How to Make Our School Life More Enjoyable. Step 2.Ask every two Ss to think of: What is the meaning of the word cheerleading and how does it create?Ask

5、all the Ss to discuss the differences between Chinese and American cheerleader. They can use one or several words, one or more sentences, but the more the better.Now listen to the tape about Culture Corner and think over the two questions about the text, and then the teacher can check the answers wi

6、th the whole class.Step 3.First ask the Ss to read the Module File by themselves and make marks where they cant understand or master the main points, then encourage them to try to settle them.Ask every two Ss to discuss the important language points including Vocabulary, Grammar, Function and Everyday English, etc. And the Ss should help each other at the base of their understanding.If there still are some difficulties they cant make sure, they can ask the teacher.Finally the teacher can ask the Ss to read some reading comprehension about the life of high school in China and America.
