2、oals Read about learning a foreign language ProceduresStep 1: Pre-reading Good morning, class! Today we are going to read an article entitled LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: TWICE AS HARD? Before we read the article, lets have a discussion about the difficulties we face when learning English and the wa

3、ys by which we may learn it well.Ju Linfen: I find so many of us complaining about how difficult it is to learn English in China. But I think it is not so difficult if we focus our attention onto reading and read aloud only. By reading we get the vocabulary, the grammar and the culture. By reading a

4、loud we learn the pronunciation, intonation, the way to speak. Zhao Yannan: I feel that we can learn English well if we just relax and look for ways to enjoy it. But it is important to establish some independence from our native language and culture.Ma Lin: I agree with Wang Xiaohui that all we need

5、 is the right attitude and an efficient method. We all have unpleasant memories of being forced to do boring exercises in the past. But we all enjoyed reading, listening and talking in English now.Step 2: Reading to the tape.Reading aloud teaches us about English in a way that silent or independent

6、reading never can. Reading aloud to the recording or the tape helps us develop and improve literacy skills - reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Listening and reading to other readers stimulates our growth and understanding of vocabulary and language patterns.So lets go on to listen to the re

7、cording of the text and read aloud to it at the same time.
