It is warning of further action if North Korea launches a missile or conducts any
3、nuclear tests.US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, the current council president conveyed condemnation in the statement.The Security Council demanded that North Korea not proceed with further launches using ballistic missile technology and that North Korea comply with its obligations under previous
4、Security Council resolutions by suspending all activities related to its ballistic missile program, and re-establish a moratorium on missile launches.At the same time, the Chinese government is calling for contact and dialogue following the UN presidential statement.Zhang Xiaoan, vice- president of
5、Chinas UN Association said the presidential statement is meant to alleviate the tense situation in Northeast Asia rather than deepening the burrow.We can not find new sanction measures to be imposed on North Korea nor any content to characterize North Korea as a threat to world peace and security in
6、 the presidential statement. This indicates that the international community do not want to see a regional situation get worse.Zhang Xiaoan added there still remains some positive indications showing North Korea is willing to launch dialogue with the United States, which she believes can be used to
7、safeguard the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.However, Ruan Zongze, a senior researcher at China Institute of International Studies does not show any bright outlook of the resumption of the six-party talks striving to solve the North Korean nuclear issue.Currently I dont see any immediat
8、e future for any resumption of the six-party talks. So we need a little bit more patience. And of course, I urge the international reaction about the launch to be restrained since it will push North Korea to take next moves.North Koreas attempt to launch a satellite ended in failure last week.
