In 1962, he was sentenced to five years hard labor for encouraging violence against anti-black laws. Two year
5、s later, he was sentenced to prison for life for being one of the ANC leaders. However, after he was set free from prison in 1990, he continued to make efforts to achieve his dream, which is to make black and white people equal. Thanks to his great work, not only did he win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, but he was also elected as President of South Africa a year later.
