We drove through the night to Washington, where I took a train the rest of the way to Providence.The real problem, of course, is that incidents like this happen every day, to everyone who flies, more and more often. It really gets to me, though, because for eight

4、years I was on the other side, as a flight attendant for TransWorld Airlines (TWA). I know the days are gone when attendants could be written up if we did not put the lines napkins with the TWA logo in the lower righthand corner of the firstclass diners trays. As are the days when there were three d

5、inner options on flights from Boston to Los Angeles in economy class. When, once, stuck on a tarmac(机场停机坪) in Newark for four hours, a planeload of passengers got McDonalds hamburgers and fries by thoughtfulness of the airline. I have experienced the decline of service along with the rest of the fly

6、ing public. But I believe everything will change little by little, because I remember the days when to fly was to soar (翱翔). The airlines, and their employees, took pride in how their passengers were treated. And I think the days are sure to come back one day in the near future. 1Why did many people

15、t turned down? She found him in the kitchen and told him the good news. They embraced and kissed, then sat down to the wonderful meal. Next to her plate the woman found a beautifully lettered note. It read: “Congratulations, darling! I knew youd get the raise! These things will tell you how much I l

16、ove you.”Following the supper, her husband went into the kitchen to clean up. She noticed that a second card had fallen from his pocket. Picking it off the floor, she read: “Dont worry about not getting the raise! You deserve it anyway! These things will tell you how much I love you.” Someone has sa

17、id that the measure of love is when you love without measure. What this man feels for his wife is total acceptance and love, whether she succeeds or fails. His love celebrates her victories and soothes her wounds. He stands with her, no matter what life throws in their direction. Upon receiving the
