1、Unit8 Adventure -Communication Workshop & Cultural Corner学案一、 重难点词汇讲解:observe vt. 观察,观测 to watch attentively; to notice or to see If you observe a childs behavior, you will find it much more natural than an adults. observe 表示“观察”时为感官动词,后接不定式作宾语补足语时,to 要省去,但在被动句中要带to 。I observed them enter the bank.

Although the Silk Road covered a huge distance linking modern day Xian with the Middle East and Europe, today one area in particular is associated most closely with the name of Silk Road. 丝绸之路连接着现今的西安和中东、欧洲,距离非常遥远,但是今天有一个地区和丝绸之路这一名字的关系尤其密切。linkin

She is good at mathematics in particular. 辨析:in particular 与particularlyin particular 作状语常常相当于副词particularly,但副词particularly一般用于句中而不用于句末。如:She is particul

5、arly good at sports. 她尤其擅长体育。(3)associatewith 把与联系在一起;be associated with 与有联系、关系。如:Whiskey is usually associated with Scotland. 人们常把威士忌同苏格兰联系起来。拓展:表示“与有联系,关系”的方式有:be associated with; be connected with; be involved with ;be linked with; be joint to ; have sth. to do with. 2. (1)influence 为不可数名词,但在有定语修饰时常带不定冠词,如:have a great /huge /big /small /bad /good influence on. (2)enter 为及物动词,后面直接接宾语,不可加介词into等。还有几个容易受汉语干扰而错加介词的词:

10、marry(结婚)不加with; solute(向致敬)不加to ; serve(为服务)不加for.(记忆要诀)结婚敬礼和服务,去掉介词再进入。4. 11、unding countries, and tourists from all over the world regularly meet 是一个定语从句,修饰crossroad,从句中主语是traders和tourists,谓语是meet,介词短语from surrounding countries 和 from all over the world 分别修饰traders和tourists. remain link v. 意为“保持,仍旧是”,后接形容词、名词、介词短语、不定式等作表语,不用于进行时或被动语态。如:He remained silent all the time at the

12、 meeting会上他一直保持沉默。The boys disappearance remains a mystery. 男孩的失踪仍是个谜。He feels much better than before though he remains in poor health. A great deal of work remains to be done. 拓展:remain 也可用作不及物动词,意为“遗留,保存下来,留下来”。如:Little of the building remains after the fire. 火灾之后,这座楼几乎没剩下什么。This visit will alway

13、s remain in my memory. 这次拜访将永远留在我的记忆中。辨析:stay与remain 两者都可用作系动词,表示“保持某种状态”,常可换用。但在表示经过变故“剩下”时,通常用remain;表示“待在某处或在某处住下”时,通常用stay. 如:The shop stays /remains open till eight oclock p. m. 19、ese map may prove that it was a Chinese navigator(航海家)who first discovered America. He may have made the discovery seventy years before Columbus discovered the New World. The map, which has gone on display in Beijing, is said to be a copy made in 1763 of a much older map dating back to 1418. It clea

20、rly describes Africa, Europe and the Americas. If its proven to be believable, the map would provide strong evidence to suggest that the famous Ming Dynasty sailor, Zheng He, beat Christopher Columbus, who arrived in America in 1492, to the discovery of the New World. Liu Gang, a Chinese lawyer and

21、map collector, bought the map in an antique(古董的)store in Shanghai in 2001 for about 500 U. S. dollars. Liu Gang thinks the map supports the thesis of British author, Gavin Menzies, who in his 2003 book argued Zheng He was the first person to circumnavigate(环航)the globe and discover America sometime

22、between 1421 and 1423. “In principle, the British author Gavin is right. Before Columbus, Zheng He discovered America and the whole world. But in detail, not exactly. three years difference. I dont think thats a big deal. ” Liu said. Zheng He commanded a group of ships, which sailed between 1405 and
