3、troduced to India 70 years after they went extinct in the country.Namibia has given eight African cheetahs to India.They were flown from Windhoek,the capital of Namibia,to Gwalior,India on a private jumbo jet.They were then moved by helicopter to Kuno National Park in central India.The eight cheetah

4、s are all aged between two and six years old.The cheetahs were released into special enclosures so that they can adjust to their new surroundings.The plan is to then release them into the sprawling 289-square-mile Kuno National Park in a months time.The park was chosen because it is already home to

5、many animals that the cheetahs can hunt.The hope is that,as apex predators,the cheetahs will help to balance the ecosystem.Theyd do this by hunting the herbivores that would otherwise eat too much plant life.If it all goes well,more cheetahs could soon follow.The iconic cats are well known for their
