1、第三课时 Section A(Grammar Focus4c)一、定语从句的含义在复合句中，修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫做定语从句。被修饰的名词或代词叫做先行词。从句放在所修饰的词(即先行词)之后，由关系代词或关系副词引导。二、定语从句的引导词定语从句的引导词可分为关系代词that，which，who(宾格为whom，所有格为whose)和关系副词where，when，why等。本单元我们主要学习关系代词引导的定语从句。三、关系代词在定语从句中的用法1.that既可指人也可指物，在从句中作主语或宾语。eg：He is a man that/who often helps others.他是一个经
2、常帮助别人的人。(作主语)2.which指物，在从句中作主语或宾语。eg：She likes to live in a room which/that is big and bright.她喜欢住在大而明亮的房间里。(作主语)The story which/that she told them was very interesting.她给他们讲的故事非常有趣。(作宾语)3.who指人，在从句中作主语或宾语。eg：Here is the man who/that is the most handsome star in the film.这个男人就是电影中最帅的那位明星。(作主语)4.whom
3、指人，在从句中只能作宾语。eg：He isnt the man whom/who/that I talked to just now.他不是刚才和我交谈的那个人。(作宾语)5.whose既可指人也可指物，在从句中作定语。eg：Is there anyone in our class whose father is a doctor？在我们班里有谁的父亲是一名医生吗？(作定语)【注意】(1)关系代词在从句中作主语时，谓语动词的单复数应与先行词的单复数一致。eg：Tom is one of the boys that are from the USA.汤姆是来自美国的男孩中的一位。Tom is t
4、he only boy that is from the USA.汤姆是唯一一位来自美国的男孩。(2)关系代词在从句中作宾语时，关系代词可省略。关系代词在从句中作主语时，关系代词不能省略。eg：I love music(that/which)I can sing along with.我喜欢能跟着唱的音乐。(作宾语)I love music that/which isnt too loud.我喜欢不太喧闹的音乐。(作主语)(3)下列情况只能用that引导定语从句：当先行词前有序数词、形容词最高级修饰时。eg：You are the first person that I want to mee
