11、People write poetry for various reasons. Some poems tell a story or describe something in a way that will strongly impress the readers. Others try to convey certain emotions. Poets try to express themselves in many different forms of poems. Nursery rhymes are a common type of childrens poetry which

12、has strong rhythm and much repetition, too. List poems repeat phrases and some rhyme and students can easily write themselves. Cinquain, another simple form of poem, is made up of five lines. Haiku, a Japanese form of poetry, is not a traditional form of English poetry but it is very popular with En

13、glish speakers. English speakers have also shown their great interest in Chinese poems, like Tang poetry, a lot of which have been translated into English.
