Edison began working on motion pictures after attending a lecture by Eadweard Muybridge, who used his zoopraxiscope (动物实验镜) to make animals move. Edison talked with Muybridge and decided to take up the subject of moving pictures. He planned t

In addition, he planned to create sound movies by linking this equipm

While Edison provided the idea for the invention and the electrical and mechanical knowledge used in designing motion picture equipment, Dickson, who was a photographer, provided most of the knowledge on photography.
