William the Conqueror took away almost all the Saxon rulers lands and gave them to his Norman followers. He replaced the weak Saxon rulers with a strong Norman feudal government. Better relati
6、ons and trade with the Continent followed. The Normans brought French culture, language, manners and buildings with them to England.
