That demolished small towns, tossed trucks and trailers in the air and brought down power lines from the gulf coast to the Great lakes. Officials say at least 37 pe

2、ople died in four states, Kentucky, Ohio, Alabama and Indiana. Mick Shawn lost his business in Henryville, Indiana whos in basement with several others when a school bus crashed on top of it. “While I was here working, a neighbor came over _ news on, and they were coming _ out and they said come ove

3、r to get in the basement _ and we watched over school, you can see and they _.” Kentucky was especially hard hit. Sherry Lawson of member station WNKU reports.According to Kentucky emergency management, at least 13 tornados touched down in this state, causing property damage hundreds of injuries and

6、s are in Ohio today, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. All are calling voters ahead of the Super Tuesday Primaries. NPRs Tamer Keys is travelling with Romney campaign.Recent poll shows Santorum and Romney are very close and both candidates see a win here in Ohio as critical. For Santorum

7、, it will prove he can win a big primary. For Romney, it will provide momentum, something thats been allusive for all of the candidates this primary season. Romneys wife Ann song it up at the rally in Cleveland last night, “Ohio is important, and Tuesday is an important day.” Ohio isnt just importan

8、t to these candidates because of its high delegate count. Its important because this will be a key battleground state in November. 9、nominees in convention this summer, but caucuses are open to everyone. But participants must sign _, identifying themselves as republican and promising not to take party in caucus for another party.Activists say Syrian forces today renewed their bombardment of City of Homs after a month long siege.

10、Meanwhile Syria is still refusing to allow the Red Cross to enter the city with needed supplies. The bodies of two foreign journalists killed were covering the bombardment of Homs were turned over to embassy officials today. This is NPR news, from Washington.BP expects to pay 7.8 billion dollars to

11、settle lawsuits brought by more than 100,000 people, who say they suffer damage in the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil disaster. BP still must resolve claims by the US government, Gulf State, and Deep Water Horizon. The company that owns the rig that exploded after a BP oil well blow out. 11 workers died an

12、d more than 200 million gallon of oil spilled. Spoiling sensitive tight area is killing wild life and interrupting fishing in the region.Major league baseball is expanding its playoffs season since 1995. NPRs TG reports the number of teams in the post season will grow from 8 to 10.The new format add

13、s another wild card team to each league, meaning now there will be two wild card teams in both American and National Leagues. Wild card teams are the teams with the best records that dont win a division. The two wild card teams will play one game; the loser is out, the winner moves on to a first rou

14、nd playoff series. Baseball officials say the change will add post-season and excitement to two more cities. It all makes winning a division is more important because the wild card bird will be precarious(不安全的) to the single elimination game. Baseball still has the fewest number of playoff teams in

15、American major Pro sports. But critics say the change will delude the post-season product and diminish excitement at the end of the regular season. TG NPR news.The 48th Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race gets underway today with the ceremony run through in Anchorage. The official start will take place tomorrow in the small town of Willow. 69 teams will then head for Nome, 922 miles away.
