However, although she loved teaching, in 1946 Mother Teresa left the school and trained to become a nurse in Patna, and then began her work helping the poor and comforting the dying in the streets of the city. 7、e 90. There are three paragraphs in the story. One paragraph is setting the scene, one tells us the development of narrative and another is the conclusion. After you read the story, match the paragraphs with these sections of the story. Are you clear?Ss: Yes.T: Good. Lets read it.After the students

8、read it, check the answers with the whole class. T: Good! Now lets read another story in Exercise 1 on page 74. First you should complete the story with the words expressing sequence in the box. Obviously, the story happened in the order of the time. Sometimes we can use necessary conjunctive words

9、or linking words to make the writing logical. They can be called bridge words, which can make the writing move on naturally and coherently. Now please complete it. After you finish it, Ill ask some of you to report your answers to the whole class.After the students finish it, check the answers by as

10、king some of them to read out their answers.Step III Writing Guide the students to learn to write a story according to the writing stages. T: Were going to do writing practice. Imagine your friend was involved in a rescue and is a local hero. Write a story about the rescue for your school magazine.

11、You may think it is easy to write it. But to write a good article is not such an easy task. Generally speaking, three parts should be included in the story as follows: Part 1: Setting the scene describe the situation at the beginning and what happened; Part 2: Development of narrative how the person

12、 reacted and what happened; Part 3: Conclusion what happened in the end. Besides, you should also know the basic stages of writing such kind of story. Ill show them on the screen.Show the following on the screen.The stages of writing a story:Stage 1: Decide the 5Ws (Who, When, Where, What, Why) and

13、1H (How).Stage 2: Draw a timeline of the main events and put them in the order of the time when they happened.Stage 3: Write a story in three or four paragraphs: beginning: 1 paragraph; development: 1 or 2 paragraphs; conclusion: 1 paragraphT: You can write your story according to the writing stages

14、 on the screen. In addition, you can refer to Writing Help 2 (layout, linking words and useful vocabulary) on page 91 in Stage 3. What should you do when you finish your story?Ss: Check our writing.T: Good! This is exactly Stage 4. I think you should check your writing to see: 1. Is there any gramma

15、tical mistakes (tense, irregular verbs, etc.)? 2. Has your story got clear paragraphs? And have you used linking words? 3. Is your story a logical story? These are the basic rules and keep them in mind when writing. OK. Please finish the writing. Ill give you fifteen minutes and after you finish it,
